Scott – the complete ski supplier

3 minutes read
One of the most innovative brands in the ski and bike domain for over 55 years.

Ed Scott started his company in 1958 in the ski Mecca Sun Valley in Idaho, U.S.A. With particularly lightweight aluminium ski poles, Ed Scott caught the attention of his competition, which was still producing poles made from wood and steel and had them quivering in their ski boots. What began with Ed’s light poles, has evolved over half a century to sporting equipment that has revolutionized the ski and cycling industry with unaccountable breakthrough designs and then as now with sustainable influence.

Among the brand’s most impressive products was the first Aero handlebar for road cycling – that brought USA cycling legend Greg Lemond to victory in the 1989 Tour de France.

Meanwhile, Scott has expanded its ski and bike expertise to an extensive ski touring know-how. With the acquisition of Garmonts ski boot division, Scott has also become one of the first brands to become a full-range ski supplier on the market. In addition to skis and ski boots, Scott also manufactures innovative ski wear and accessories and tirelessly inspires the professional world anew every year with innovative products.

Ski boots and so much more

Top Scott ski touring boots go under the name of Celeste (women) and Cosmos (men). Both ski touring boots are ideal for those who aren’t wanting any extra grams on their feet with an emphasis on a dynamic descent. The high-tech ski touring boot adapts to the foot, can be optimally closed with four buckles and is equipped with a lightweight, yet robust Grilamid shell and padded inserts, which make it particularly comfortable. 60 ° shaft rotation, Dynafit inserts and a grippy Vibram® round off the overall concept.
In 2009 the legendary Scott Carbon lightweight Crus’Air, set new standards on the ski market. The entire Air-series scores top points with a combination of carbon chassis, sandwich wood construction with air channels finished off with a rocker shape in the blade. The construction results in an extremely lightweight yet super stable, reactive ski.

The function is the priority: interchangeable lenses and weatherproof down

Clothing: quality before quantity

Rather than designing and selling monotonous clothing off the rack, the label sets standards for skiwear that is carefully cut, detailed and clever designed for use as a truly functional product. Bergzeit stocks Scott apparel that is able to venture into high Alpine terrain: Functional clothing such as the Combi Explorair NG from the Gore-Tex Pro series – a highly technical hardshell-set that can be worn for all-year use in alpine terrain.

Even the Sawatch Jacket is made for harsh weather conditions. Scott has allied the down jacket in water-resistant down with a fill power of cuin 650, together with a moisture-protecting Pertex outer material. Thus, the jacket keeps warm and dry for many hours – even in the worst conditions imaginable.
